Go Huskies

It's hard to believe that as good as Husky forward Jon Brockman has been on the basketball court, he still leads a rather obscure life on the national radar.

While Brockman has managed to fill up the stat sheets with rebounds and points, it is in several categories that are not measured in boxscores that truly make him a special player. If heart, hustle, bumps and bruises were recorded, Brockman would most likely lead the nation in those categories.

The best way to sum up Jon Brockman's style of play is to say that it's like watching the passionate, determined underdog trying to make the team each day. No matter the score, no matter the opponent, you can always expect to see Brockman give 100 percent effort on the court.

These are the traits that make Brockman the kind of player that every coach wishes they had on their team. Add in the fact that he is likely to pour in a double-double on the opponent and Brockman's importance is magnified tenfold.

"There's only one thing bad about Jon Brockman -- he'll only have four years with us. There's just not a whole lot that you can say negative about him. He's a servant. He's a leader. He plays hard. He's talented. He approaches the game as if he's trying to make the team, yet he goes out and he's an all-conference player."

-- Lorenzo Romar, Washington Head Coach
