Diamond Dawgs Enter National Rankings At No. 30
May 5, 2008
The Washington baseball team earned its first national ranking of the 2008 season today as Collegiate Baseball installed the Huskies as its No. 30-ranked team in today's poll. Over the weekend, the Huskies (28-16 overall, 8-7 in the Pac-10 Conference) jumped from eighth to sole possession of third place in the league standings thanks to a three-game sweep at USC. This week, the Huskies play a non-conference game Tuesday at Portland before Washington State visits Husky Ballpark for a three-game series this weekend. In other news, the Huskies have made a change to their upcoming non-conference schedule. The Lewis-Clark State game originally scheduled for May 13 will be played instead on May 20, still at 5:00 p.m. That game will also air live on KKNW AM-1150. Depending on circumstances that will be resolved this weekend, the Huskies could add a game on May 13. If that game is added, it will be announced most likely on Sunday.
