Diamond Dawgs Host Vulcans For Three

March 24, 2008

SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team wraps up both a 14-game homestand and its pre-conference schedule this week with a three-game series vs. Hawai'i-Hilo at Husky Ballpark. Game time Monday and Tuesday is 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday's finale gets underway at 1:00 p.m.

As always, fans can catch live video, audio and stats of the games, at no cost, on the "Dawg Channel" here at gohuskies.com. Simply click on the links at the bottom of the front page of gohuskies.com.

The UW enters the series vs. the Vulcans (7-11) with a 13-6 record after having won eight straight games. Washington swept a four-game series from Holy Cross and a three-gaem set from Utah Valley before nipping Portland, 6-5, on Saturday, thanks to a three-run rally in the bottom of the ninth.

Washington will send sophomore right-hander Cam Nobles (1-0) to the mound to start Monday's game. On Tuesday, freshman lefty Geoff Brown (1-0) will get his second Husky start and on Tuesday, senior southpaw Josh Scofield (0-0) will make his UW starting debut on Wednesday.

This weekend, the Huskies open Pac-10 play with a three-game series at Oregon State (9-7) in Corvallis, Friday's series opener begins at 5:00 p.m. Saturday's game starts at 1:00 p.m. and, in a change to the original schedule, Sunday's series finale starts at 2:00 p.m. All three games will air live on KKNW AM-1150. Fans can also catch that broadcast on the Dawg Channel. Additionally, Sunday's game will air live on FSN-TV in the Northwest.
